10. processing of personal data in the context of veterinary activity

As part of our veterinary activities, we process personal data of pet owners and their animals insofar as this is necessary for the provision of veterinary treatment, counselling, billing or legal obligations. This includes the name, address and contact details of the animal owner as well as animal data such as name, species, breed, date of birth, chip number, findings, diagnoses and treatment data. Payment and billing data are also processed.

Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR (legal obligations). Health-related data is only processed in accordance with Art. 9 para. 2 lit. h GDPR to the extent necessary for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Veterinary treatment records are stored for at least three years. Once the statutory periods have expired, the data is deleted or anonymised. Data that must be stored for longer will be blocked and no longer processed.
